I have had the best first year at Nose Creek I could have ever asked for. The parents, the students, and the staff have all been incredible and supportive.
I would like to thank all of the families from 5C and 5F who sent cards, gifts, baked goods, and words of encouragement all throughout the year and today. I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I can't wait to see the kids in the hallways again next year.
Tuesday, June 26th-- in the afternoon all grade 5 classes will stay with their homerooms and have a party to celebrate their year. In 5C we have two students with a dairy intolerance and one with a gluten intolerance, so please send snacks to share with this in mind.
Wednesday, June 27th-- field day activities in the morning, a year end assembly in the afternoon and then report cards will be handed out.
5C and I spent our last Friday of the school year together this past Friday. To start we discussed what makes a great mathematician and created four different things we were going to be looking for. The class was divided into groups and they each got their own large white board to collaborate on. As a group the students worked through various problems, shared strategies and the group that was picked based on what the category was (kindness, collaboration, cooperation etc.) chose between lining up for Splatter Face or passing it to another group.
Check out two shots below of different groups lining up for Splatter Face and testing their chance of getting whip cream in the face!
5F worked on their art pieces that go along with their final project about a wild animal.
